Wastewater Commodity
At ARROW Utilities, we are working hard to create a circular water economy where treated wastewater can be reused for new purposes or returned to the North Saskatchewan River. Before our wastewater reaches the North Saskatchewan River, it undergoes a significant cleaning process across several stages. But for some industries, this water can be used for business or industry purposes before it reaches the final stage of release.
Agriculture
Farmers across Alberta rely on fertilizer and a ready supply of water to ensure their crops grow to their maximum potential. As wastewater is packed with valuable nutrients, including nitrogen (a common ingredient in fertilizer), semi-treated wastewater can be used to help fertilize and grow crops.
